Fall classic, Baked Apple Donuts.

It's Fall Y'all! Living in the south, Fall is very different. I grew up in New England where Fall is the most BEAUTIFUL thing I had ever seen. The changing colors of leaves and the crisp breeze in the morning air. In the south, we still fluctuate between warm and chilly(ish) days and don't get as many colorful trees. When I bite into this donut, it transports me back home, bundled up outside, feeling that crisp air of fall.

Now is the fun time where we transition from salads to soup and tropical fruits to Apple and Pumpkin! One of the all-time best traditions in the fall is to go apple picking and get some delicious Apple Cider Donuts! This donut does not have any cider in it, but it does include all the flavors you would expect to get. The combination of spices and fresh apples are so fall-tabulous. Oh and of course, the best part about this donut is going to be that amazing cinnamon sugar coating on the outside. I love that coating and the sweetness it adds to the donut!

I did make a few adjustments to the recipe below, by adding an additional 1/3 cup of Almond Milk, an additional 1/4 cup of Apple Sauce, and substituted Coconut Oil for Olive Oil. I also added 1 cup of fresh apple chunks to amp up that apple flavor. This will definitely be made multiple times in this house. See the recipe below from Fork Knife Swoon.
